Big Brain Comics Book Signing.

Posted in Save Dollhouse on November 30, 2009 by toresimonsen

One of the things, I learned about yesterday was an upcoming book signing for a local comic artist, David Steinlicht. The book signing will occur on Saturday, Dec. 12, from 4-6 pm. I am not familiar with the work personally, but found this review.

I also found this link as well as a blog.

Saddened by tragedy in Washington.

I am very saddened by the events in Washington. As Camus explained, “Violence is never justified.”

Vikings Tailgating

Posted in Dollhouse and Minnesota Vikings on November 29, 2009 by toresimonsen

I will be collecting signatures again at the Vikings tailgating. Usually am at Kirby PL and Chicago. Usual rounds, probably begin at 501 Club. Here’s hoping for another win!

Update: Vikings won. I spoke to a lot of very friendly people. I hope they check out the show and sign the petitions. It’s been a great season for the Vikings and I’m hoping the fans will like Dollhouse and help me out. I wish I could enjoy the tailgating events more. A lot of people seem really cool. Many offer me food, share stories of Vikings, and are very friendly. With an away game coming up, I will probably take a break from tailgating.

A special mention: 501 Club again let me collect in their parking lot. Big Brain Comics- I stopped in for a great conversation.

Overall, it was a great weekend. Timberwolves game, Hmong New Year, Tree lighting, and Vikings Tailgating. Hopefully, it will translate into petition signatures. Please help save Dollhouse.

Christmas Tree Lighting

Posted in Save Dollhouse on November 29, 2009 by toresimonsen

I finished up my day at the lighting of the Christmas tree in downtown St. Paul and the opening of the ice rink.

I want to also thank a musical group which was playing in the park before the event. They were singing songs. Apparently, they wanted to perform at the event, but could not. Still they shared songs in the park with anyone who wanted to listen. One of the performers even gave me a t-shirt. Thank you.

Hallelujah

A free t-shirt.

At the park, I got a free CFL bulb! After many performances, including a song from the forthcoming performance of the Ordway’s Beauty and the Beast, the night ended with fireworks.

Fireworks.

Fireworks and tree lighting.

New Year Events

Posted in Save Dollhouse on November 29, 2009 by toresimonsen

I began the day at the River Center. The Hmong New Year celebrations were under way. There were many beautiful women and sharp dressed men in attendance. Everyone was friendly and happy. The atmosphere was very celebratory. It looked like many were playing pov pob. I want to thank people who explained this to me and shared their culture with me. The New Year’s celebrations will continue at the River Center tomorrow. Good luck to all of the contestants.

I really appreciate all who listened while I explained my challenge with the Fox network to try to save the Dollhouse and move the show to a network like TNT where it will get more support.

Roseville

Posted in Save Dollhouse on November 27, 2009 by toresimonsen

I was in Roseville today. I hope all people in retail get a break today. It was sure busy. Started my day by biking at 3 am.

Want to mention a couple of things. First, the scouts are selling Christmas wreathes at Rosedale. The wreathes cost $20. They will be selling for three days at Rosedale.

Best Buy is running a sale on Dollhouse Season 1 on DVD- ONLY $14.99. If I had $15, I’d pick it up today!!!

Another quick mention, is SolarKeepers. Met someone from the company who wants to check out the show. Looks like they are into renewable energy.

Rosedale Mall has a couple of very cool things to check out. I like the mall a lot and people were very cool. I spoke to several retailers, like Games ‘N Go and a few booths- everyone was very cool.
